History
The Toronto International Celebration Church (TICC) was launched the second Sunday of September, 2000. For two years prior, the Lord had been speaking to Pastor Peter Youngren again and again about launching a church in Toronto. Already that first Sunday there was a sense of the prophetic fulfillment of a church birthed by a word from God.
For the first four years, services were held at the Korean Garden Church, until the end of 2004, when the current facilities at 190 Railside were opened. From the beginning, the church has been established on the revelation of the grace of Jesus Christ, and each individual member is encouraged to discover and pursue the gifts that God has placed in them. Until the end of 2009, Pastor Peter Karl Youngren worked with his dad, growing in his role from an assistant pastor to eventually serve as Senior Associate Pastor. Peter Karl has left a great legacy of love and care for people, and continues to be much appreciated in TICC.
Currently Pastor Shawn Annis is the Senior Associate Pastor, serving with Peter Youngren. Before coming to TICC he was a senior pastor in Eastern Canada.
The word “international” has always been significant to TICC. During any service you will notice people from all around the world who come together in a common cause of growing in the knowledge of Jesus, and sharing His love with others.
Pastor Peter Youngren has spent much of his life ministering to the nations of the world, holding Gospel festivals in Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic countries. He says, “In some ways I feel like the Lord has prepared me my whole life for the ministry here in Toronto”.
Currently, in 2010, TICC is in a season of increase, when many new people are finding a spiritual home, and a place of belonging.
